Binder and filler are coming from Arturo Fuente’s farm, Chateau de la Fuente. The wrapper on the other hand is a Connecticut Broadleaf, aged for 5 years in Cognac barrels and afterwards wrapped in a thin cedar strip.

The No. 55 presents a Maduro Oscuro wrapper, with a slight tooth to it. Filling is correct.

Arturo Fuente Añejo Reserva No. 55: before lighting the cigar up hints of cocoa and hay can be perceived. Opening is sweet, giving off aromas of cocoa.

The first third showcases cocoa as the main player, supported by woody notes. Strength is light to medium (2,5/5).

The second third adds leathery notes to the aromatic palette. After-smoke persistency, as body, is light. Every aspect seems muted.

The last third becomes bitter. It moves on without major changes, only the body becomes medium (3/5).

Overall, the Arturo Fuente Añejo Reserva No. 55 seems to be lacking the typical Arturo Fuente character. It delivers at the beginning, but under-performs for the entire smoke. Burn line was also a problem, and many corrections were needed.
